Indie (interest)

Indie is an 8 year old German shepherd.

She is very well trained and very intelligent. Indie walks nicely with us on the lead. She will even toilet when told to!

She knows lots of commands and is good with being handled by staff and at the vets.

Indie has an obsession with her chuckit ball, likely due to her intelligence and being a working breed, she has given herself the job of taking her ball with her everywhere on walks and she loves to play fetch and brain games for her favourite reward… her ball!

Indie prefers people to dogs and does not want dogs in her space or to live with another dog.

Out on walks she carries her ball so ignores dogs if she is focused on her ball and is not difficult to walk past.

For a working breed, she is coping surprisingly well in kennels but has been with us over three months now and really deserves a good home for life.

Indie came to us emaciated and after investigating further, vets have found that she has irritable bowl syndrome and does need a specific diet for life as her intestines do not cope with cheaper food brands or diet changes. New owners will need to be aware of this sensitivity to certain foods and keep her on a hypo diet for life.

Indie could live with older children if they are used to dogs.

Ideally she needs a home with owners who understand German shepherds and what they need to thrive or owners who have had working breeds before.
