About Winnie
Meet Winnie
Winnie is a beautiful, purebred working-line Labrador Retriever looking for her forever home. At 5 years old, she is intelligent, loyal, affectionate, and has so much to offer the right person or family.
Winnie came into our care after an unfortunate start in life, which has left her needing a very specific home where she can feel safe, understood, and supported. She is looking for an adopter who is committed to continuing her journey and helping her build confidence in the areas she still finds challenging.
Ideally, Winnie would thrive with someone experienced in working breeds, particularly working Labradors or gundogs, who can appreciate her intelligence, drive, and natural abilities. However, we would also consider a dedicated and patient adopter who is willing to invest the time and effort needed to help her succeed. With the right guidance, we are confident Winnie will continue to make excellent progress.
We believe Winnie has previously received gundog training. She is exceptionally obedient, highly intelligent, and eager to work. She has excellent recall, enjoys off-lead exercise in suitable environments, knows a wide range of commands, and forms a strong bond with her handler.
Winnie truly comes into her own when given structure, routine, and a job to do. She loves learning, enjoys training, and is incredibly responsive to direction. Her focus and willingness to work make her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and wants a dog they can engage with both mentally and physically.
Alongside her working ability, Winnie is a loving and affectionate girl who enjoys being close to her people and becoming part of their daily life. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly loyal and devoted.
Due to her specific needs, Winnie is not suitable for a home with children under the age of 18, and we are unable to accept applications from households where children live or regularly visit. We are looking for an adult-only home that can provide the calm, predictable environment she requires to feel secure and continue progressing.
Winnie is a special dog who deserves a loving, understanding home where she can continue to flourish. The rehoming team will be happy to discuss Winnie's training requirements, behavioural needs, and areas she is currently working through with suitable applicants to ensure the best possible match for both Winnie and her future home.
