Our Trustees

Who we are: our trustees

Our Trustees help lead the charity and decide how we operate and run, using their skills to make key decisions that positively impact our services, team and sanctuary. If you are interested in becoming a Happy Landings Trustee please contact us.

Annabelle Walter, founder

Our founder, Annabelle always knew animal rescue and welfare were her calling. She founded Happy Landings in 1983. More than 10,000 have been rescued and rehomed.

Andrew Young, Trustee

Our Financial trustee, Andrew, keeps an eye on the detail without ever losing sight of the bigger picture, and supports Happy Landings in planning ahead, and staying financially resilient. He’s motivated by the simple belief that good financial stewardship underpins good welfare, and he’s proud to play a part in keeping the sanctuary secure for the animals who rely on it.

Rachel Jamieson, Trustee

Rachel is our Human Resources trustee. She is just as passionate about animal welfare as she is about people – Rachel looks after HR compliance, policy development and more, ensuring Happy Landings is a place our much valued team wants to be.

Nina Harris, Trustee

Our Animal Welfare trustee, Nina, has been rescuing animals and birds of all varieties for more than 50 years, giving them a second chance in life. She draws on this experience to ensure the animals we take in receive the care, compassion and rehabilitation they need.

Kerris Macauley, Trustee

Kerris, our Marketing trustee, is an ex-journalist, PR professional, and lifelong animal lover – currently mum to a mastiff mix and a Rottie, as well as two native ponies. She believes that all animals deserve respect and a chance to find a home where they’ll be loved and cared for – and Happy Landings provides that gentle springboard to a decent life for creatures in need.
