Reception volunteers

We need organised & friendly Volunteers to work on our reception to welcome visitors, book in boarding cats and dogs, and assist us in general day-to-day admin tasks to help ensure the smooth running of our sanctuary.

:: Front Desk Reception: Greet visitors, answer incoming phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct visitors to the appropriate staff members.

:: General Administrative Tasks: Assist with data entry, filing, photocopying, and organising paperwork.

:: Volunteer and Donor Coordination: Help maintain records of volunteer shifts and donations, and assist with communications related to these areas.

:: Appointment Scheduling: Support in booking appointments using Kennel Booker (training provided) for adoptions, animal care, and shelter visits.

:: Email Management: Assist in managing the general office inbox, responding to inquiries, or forwarding them to the relevant departments.

:: Office Support: Provide support in organizing documents, preparing mail-outs, and any other office-related tasks as needed.

:: Donation Handling: Accept and process in-kind donations from the public, recording details accurately.

:: Team Support: Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth office operations.


:: Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.

:: Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.

:: IT Proficiency: Comfortable using computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and email systems.

:: Team Player: Ability to work well in a team, showing cooperation and flexibility.

:: Passion for Animal Welfare: A genuine interest in animal care and welfare, aligning with Happy Landings’ mission.

:: Availability: Must be able to commit to a regular shift pattern (ideally one shift of per week or more).

:: Experience: Prior experience in an office environment or reception work is desirable but not essential.
